Good condition with slight scratching on the screen and button edges, slightly fading paint on the body edges, and small scratches mostly around the silver lens ring. All functions work perfectly.

The DSC-W730 arrived in 2013 as a straightforward entry in Sony's W-series — 16.1 megapixels, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar glass at 25mm wide, Optical SteadyShot, and a 25–200mm zoom range in a body just 22mm deep. It was a reliable everyday compact with no pretensions, offered in a handful of colors. Green was the most unexpected of them — and the most interesting.
NO FILTER: SHOT ON W730

THE LOOKS
The green W730 has a glossy metallic finish that sits somewhere between forest and emerald — vivid without tipping into fluorescent. The body is 93.1 × 52.3 × 22mm with a clean front face, the 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD filling most of the rear, and almost no physical controls visible from behind. At 122g it disappears into a jacket pocket without effort. Also available in silver, pink, and blue.
THE SPECS
16.1-megapixel 1/2.3-inch Super HAD CCD, ISO 80–3200. Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 8× optical zoom, 25–200mm equivalent, f/3.3–6.3. Optical SteadyShot 2-Way Active Mode. BIONZ. 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD (230k dots). Sweep Panorama 360°. Picture Effects (Toy Camera, Pop Color, Partial Color). Beauty Effect. Face Detection, Smile Shutter, Blink Detection. 720p/30fps video. SD/SDHC/SDXC + MS Duo. 93.1 × 52.3 × 22mm, 122g.
DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
- Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar glass at 25mm wide: the wide-angle starting point and Zeiss coating are both spec-sheet surprises at the W730's price tier.
- Optical SteadyShot with 2-Way Active Mode: the Active Mode provides additional correction during video, beyond what the standard stabilization handles for stills.
- Metallic green in a lineup of mostly conservative colors: the least expected W730 colorway — vivid, glossy, and the one most likely to prompt a second look.
THE VERDICT
The W730 in green is a compact that earns its keep through reliability rather than spectacle — the Carl Zeiss glass, 25mm wide-angle, and Optical SteadyShot consistently outperform what a camera at this price point has any right to deliver. The green finish is what makes it worth choosing over the silver: a color that reads as a deliberate pick rather than a default.
