Canon's IXUS 180 came out in 2016 as a slim little camera that quietly does a lot. Its lens starts ultra-wide — enough to fit a big group or a whole room — and zooms a long 10× to pull far-off things close. There's a real built-in stabiliser to keep those zoomed shots sharp, plus Wi-Fi to send photos to your phone. THE LOOKS
In red, the IXUS 180 is a clean, slim little slab in a bright, glossy finish that stands out next to the plain silver and black versions. It's small enough to disappear into a pocket — roughly 95 × 54 × 22mm and about 126g — with the 2.7-inch screen filling the back and the lens tucked neatly into the front. The lens stretches out when you zoom right in, then pulls back flush when you're done. Also in silver and black.

The warm older-camera look is exactly what people want these for. It likes decent light rather than dark rooms, but for everyday shots, travel, and parties it covers nearly everything. In red it's the one that stands out. A proper little all-rounder.
