THE CAMERA IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH SOME COSMETIC WEAR. THE METALLIC PURPLE BODY IS CLEAN WITH MINOR SIGNS OF USE. THE "FI" LETTERING FROM "FINEPIX" ON THE FRONT IS MISSING. THE SLIDING LENS COVER BASE HAS A VISIBLE SCRATCH AND LOST PAINT ON THE EDGE. THE 2.7-INCH LCD SCREEN IS CLEAR. THE LENS IS PERFECT AND CLEAR. ALL FUNCTIONS WORK PERFECTLY INCLUDING SHOOTING, BLOG MODE, SUCCESSIVE MOVIE MODE, FACE DETECTION, AND ALL BUTTONS. BATTERY AND CHARGER INCLUDED. A VIBRANT EXAMPLE OF FUJIFILM'S 2009 FASHION-FOCUSED COMPACT.
Fujifilm's FinePix Z30 launched in early 2009 as an unapologetically fun fashion camera available in bright colors including purple, orange, pink, and white, all wrapped in a slim plastic body designed to be as much accessory as tool. It targeted the style-conscious teenager market with simplified controls, automatic scene recognition, and features like Blog Mode that made posting to social media and photo-sharing sites effortless. The Successive Movie Mode even let you edit video clips in-camera, creating 60-second compilations without touching a computer—genuinely useful in that brief window between flip phones and smartphones when dedicated cameras still had a purpose for casual social photography.

THE LOOKS
In purple, the Z30 embraces its fashion-first identity completely. The slim, rounded plastic body measures 90.5 × 59 × 25.7mm and weighs just 131 grams, making it genuinely pocketable. The curved shape looks friendly rather than technical, with a sliding front panel that covers the lens when closed. Available in six vibrant colors, the Z30 wanted to be fun and visible rather than understated.
THE SPECS
The Z30 uses a 10-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor with ISO 64 to 1600. The Fujinon 3× optical zoom covers 35-105mm equivalent with f/3.7-4.2 aperture and Picture Stabilization mode (digital, not optical). The 2.7-inch LCD has 230,000-dot resolution. SR Auto scene recognition, 16 scene modes, face detection with automatic red-eye removal, and Blog Mode handle automation. VGA or QVGA video recording at 30fps with monaural sound. Stores on SD/SDHC cards or 50MB internal memory.
DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
- Vibrant purple finish: Part of Fujifilm's six-color lineup designed to make the camera feel like a fashion accessory rather than tech gadget.
- Blog Mode for easy sharing: Optimized settings for uploading to social media, blogs, and photo-sharing sites made posting photos effortless in the pre-smartphone era.
- Successive Movie Mode with in-camera editing: Record multiple clips totaling 60 seconds, then edit start and end points in-camera to create compilations.
THE VERDICT
The FinePix Z30 is a fashion-forward ultracompact from Fujifilm's Z series. The bright colors, simplified controls, and social-sharing features made it ideal for casual photographers who wanted something fun and easy, though the mediocre image quality and slow performance were real compromises for that accessory-focused design.
