THE CAMERA IS IN VERY GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION WITH NORMAL SIGNS OF CAREFUL USE. THE BLACK METAL BODY SHOWS MINIMAL WEAR AND REMAINS ATTRACTIVE. THE 3-INCH TOUCHSCREEN LCD HAS THE TYPICAL LOSS OF ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING WITH SOME SPOTS REMAINING, A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL BUT DOES NOT AFFECT FUNCTIONALITY. THE BATTERY IS ORIGINAL BUT THE BLUE CLIPS THAT HOLD IT IN THE COMPARTMENT DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, MAKING CLOSING THE BATTERY COVER SLIGHTLY DIFFICULT. CAMERA WORKS PERFECTLY AND ALL FUNCTIONS OPERATE CORRECTLY. DUE TO THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT ISSUE, THIS CAMERA IS SOLD AS-IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OR RETURNS AND IS SIGNIFICANTLY DISCOUNTED TO REFLECT THIS FAULT.
Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-T77 arrived in August 2008 as one of the slimmest cameras of its generation, measuring just 15mm thick while packing a 4× optical zoom. It was the successor to the T70, pushing Sony's touchscreen ambitions further with a 3-inch touch-sensitive widescreen LCD that dominated the entire rear panel. With its sliding front panel, metal body, and style-conscious design available in five colors, the T77 was aimed squarely at gadget lovers who wanted a camera that looked as good as their phone.
THE PICS

THE LOOKS
In black, the T77 has a sleek, minimalist aesthetic with a brushed metal body and virtually no external controls. The sliding front panel moves up and down to power the camera on and reveal the Carl Zeiss lens, snapping into place with a satisfying click. At just 15mm thick and weighing 151 grams, it was genuinely shirt-pocket friendly without sacrificing the premium feel.
THE SPECS
The T77 uses a 10.1-megapixel Super HAD CCD sensor paired with Sony's BIONZ image processor. The Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4× optical zoom lens covers 35-140mm equivalent with Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization. The entire rear panel is consumed by the 3-inch touch-sensitive widescreen LCD in 16:9 aspect ratio with 230K-dot resolution.
DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
- Ultra-slim profile at 15mm: Sony claimed it was the thinnest camera to feature a 4× optical zoom range, making it genuinely pocketable without compromise.
- Full touchscreen interface: The entire rear panel served as a touch-controlled interface, eliminating physical buttons for a clean, futuristic look.
- Sliding front panel mechanism: The smooth, satisfying slide-up panel doubled as both lens cover and power switch, adding to the premium feel.
THE VERDICT
The T77 is a stylish, ultra-slim ultracompact from Sony's touchscreen era. Its impossibly thin profile and metal construction made it a head-turner that attracted attention, while the touchscreen interface felt genuinely futuristic in 2008.
